Course Description: This course introduces the reform and opening up of China’s policy since 1970. Students will develop a basic understanding of macroeconomics principles, financial and monetary policies as leverages for economic developments. A particular focus will be macroeconomic policy changes and emergence of the market as a dominant mechanism and the growth of the private sector and social sector in China. Students will have a deep understanding of the tortuous road of economic reform since 1978, rural development WTO and the trade war etc.
