Course Description: Mathematical Reasoning is an applied college-level mathematics course for students in majors that do not require calculus. Mathematics helps develop logical reasoning, it is a core element of the liberal arts. Students learn to effectively use mathematical theory, graphical and analytical skills. Mathematical reasoning and modeling also allow us to better understand the natural and human world, supporting the search for truth. Students also learn the applications of mathematics that can inform decisions related to social justice and social well-being, such as resource allocation, epidemiology, and population dynamics.
