On the 13th of March, students and teachers from Arete College visited Tesla Shanghai Fengxiang Centre - GIGA Museum in Baoshan District, to explore "the future of black technology" .
Mr. Zhu, Tesla's technical advisor, introduced Tesla's mission to accelerate the world's transformation to sustainable energy, and held an inspiring discussion on Tesla's unique business model. Arete students had a clearer perception of the core of the future business model by analyzing Tesla's cost control and first principles thinking.
Tesla's senior product expert, Mr. Zhang, shared Tesla's product development and manufacturing technology with the students present. Arete students were amazed at the speed of technology innovation in Tesla's humanoid robot and appreciated the transformation of sustainable energy from technology to model.
Afterwards, Arete students visited Tesla's mysterious "after-sales workshop", where the staff introduced in detail the design, safety and environmental performance of different Tesla models. The students were impressed by the neat and clean maintenance workshop of Tesla and learned about the cutting-edge technology, intelligent driving and charging facilities.
Tesla also prepared a test drive for Arete students. Tesla abandoned all physical buttons and used one screen to control all functions. The super-sensitive autopilot cruise mode made Arete students feel the power of "black technology".
Freshman Green said, from Tesla's corporate philosophy to the robotic branch line, to the one-piece inverted mold processing and after-sales maintenance, the first principles thinking and innovative efficiency were consistent throughout. This visit to Tesla GIGA Museum gave me more imagination and expectation of how Tesla would change the world!
Mike and Howard said, every ride on the wheel is a silent battle against environmental sustainability and business costs. The visit gave them a new perspective on the new energy sector, where the risks of innovation can be high, but so can the rewards!
Daniel, who has been interested in cars since he was a child, said, "When I was a child I thought I would have to wait until I became an old man to experience electric cars, but after this experience I realised the progress of technology is all around us. Electric cars, led by Tesla, are gradually replacing fuel cars and are leading the automotive industry step by step."
For each enterprise visit, Arete College hopes to immerse the entrepreneurial spirit and leadership in the hearts of students, so that they can grow into future entrepreneurs with Chinese roots and global vision.
