From March onwards, a number of optional courses covering arts, science, arts and sports will be available to Arete students. The courses include Artistic Expression and Inner Transformation, Artistic Creation and Healing, Chinese Calligraphy, Drama Rehearsal and Psychological Experience, Street Dance, and Calculus.
On March 1st, Drama Rehearsal and Psychological Experience started its first trial session. Ms Li explained the design of the course - "easy to get started, fun to go through, and an accomplished outcome". After a brief warm-up, students put on the clothes of their choice, rehearsed their lines in groups and completed an immersive theatre experience.
Calculus was also launched in March and has already completed several sessions. Ms Xi takes students on a journey through the wonderful world of calculus. Calculus is a fundamental subject in higher mathematics, covering limits, differentiation, integration and its applications.
This term, Mr. Zhang led Arete students to continue practising the Big Seal and Small Seal Script, and to experience the charm of traditional culture through ink, paper and brush.
On 15 March, the first Street Dance class of this semester was held in Arete College! Under the lead of Ms. Nana, students danced their hearts out and danced their youth away!
On 27 March, Artistic Creation and Healing class led by Mr Li officially opened. The first class used two mirrors as a starting point to provoke reflection on the inner and outer self, and then used the chair as a vehicle to connect the imagination of objects, concepts and forms. Arete students had a lot of fun as they went wild.
