From 20th to 21st March, Arete College "Your Future from Arete, Extremely Wonderful" camp of 2023 was held. During the two days, students and teachers of Arete College got in touch with nature, balanced the rhythm of tension and relaxation in exploration and competition, felt the connection between individuals and teams, learned cooperation and tolerance, and left unforgettable memories in the forest and by the water.

In the ice-breaking section at the beginning of the camp, Daniel, the foreign camp director, led a warm-up session to help everyone clarify their group values, group them quickly and encourage them to build a trusting partnership.

The first challenge for the campers was the 700 metre long 'Jungle Traverse', built on top of a pristine arboretum.

Facing nature and the hurdles, the group learnt that only by harnessing collective energy and working together could they better unleash their individual potential and courage.

In the afternoon of the 20th, students and teachers began their journey to the south of the river.

After learning about safety issues of kayaking and mastering the fundamentals of paddling on the water, the campers worked in pairs and headed towards the "Eastern Amazon" in the Xiaofongyang area.

From the camp's water centre, students will soon be in the midst of the lush wetlands and waterfront villages and towns that dot the Dianshan Lake's well-traveled waterways.

The second day focused on indoor activities. Dryland curling is a combination of strength and intelligence, testing the campers' skills and team tactics against each other. Frisbee, on the other hand, has a wide variety of tricks, with small tosses testing a lot of wrist strength, physical coordination and delicate tactics.

The two days's activities allowed the campers to fully unleash their energy and the team cohesion was enhanced through healthy competition. We believe that Arete students will also be able to ride on the waves and move forward in their future studies and life.
